A lovely day for fishing saw 19 fishermen take part in the annual Meadowbank Holidays fishing competition, held annually on the 1st Wednesday in October. This years competition was hotly contested by previous 3 times winner Jason Owen and 2 x times winner (incl 2014) Colin Colclough. A close battle ensued all day however Jason ran out a worthy winner in the end. Weighing in a terrific catch totalling 28 Lbs. Colin was runner up with 22 lbs and third was Mark Wilton 12 lb 9 0z, a previous 3 x winner returning to the park for the 1st time in over 20 years !
There were a couple of lovely roach caught by Dave Tarrell 1 lb 8 oz and Melvin Emms 1 lb 2 oz with the other individual fish of note being the days only Barbel caught by Mr J Simms and weighing in at a mighty 8 oz !
An enjoyable social drinks gathering and prize presentation took place in the parks reception with Mr Grahame Taylor presenting prizes to the top 6 fishermen.
