Bournemouth beach was in 2012 voted the best in Britain and 4th best in Europe by Tripadvisor users. The golden sand beach extends for 7 miles from the local beauty spot at Hengistbury head through Southbourne, Boscombe, Bournemouth, Westcliffe and into Poole culminating at the renowned Sandbanks peninsula. Access to the beach from the cliffs above is through pretty woodland chines and gardens or via the famous Zig Zag paths and cliff lifts.
The beach is so long that you can always find space even in the hottest of holiday weather. The Bournemouth and Boscombe pier areas tend to be the busiest areas for the younger generation where as the sections of beach at Southbourne, Fishermans Walk and Alum and Branksome Chines tend to be quieter and more family orientated. There are numerous parking and bus options for the main sections of beach.
